About Binoye Jos
Before Binoye Jos was an attorney, he was a client — and a frustrated one. Four years of litigation, 198 court filings, more than $400,000 out of pocket, and two high-profile attorneys who couldn’t get him custody orders that were in his son’s best interests. He also found that the shortage in the legal industry isn’t attorneys — it’s ethical ones. So he fired his lawyers, represented himself in family law court, and won equal custody of his son while working full time.
That experience didn’t just lead him to become an attorney. It shaped the kind of attorney he became: one who takes cases personally, who knows what it feels like to be on the wrong side of a system that should work but doesn’t, and who brings that urgency to every client he represents.
What most people don’t know about Mr. Jos is that the law is his second career. Before he ever set foot in a courtroom as an attorney, he spent more than 20 years in sales and marketing — building teams, training over 1,000 marketing directors, and developing the kind of business instincts that don’t come from a classroom. That background didn’t disappear when he passed the bar. It’s what drives him to keep looking beyond the problem directly in front of him.
He built Jos Family Law, Inc. as a solo practitioner — no backing, no firm to absorb the risk. But Binoye has never been someone who builds one thing and stops. He’s a serial entrepreneur by nature — someone who looks at an industry, identifies what’s broken or missing, and builds the company that should exist.
Jos FinTech, LLC, Jos Nexus, LLC, and Jos Advisory weren’t born because his legal clients asked for them. When he identifies a problem, he gets excited. He believes God created us as simple human beings, the complexity and the problems are our own creation.
There are always simple solutions to all the problems. All we have to do is narrow our focus on the problem. If there is a problem, that is the best industry to get in. When there is a problem everyone wants to be part of the problem as there is money to be made. Just like treating a cancer patient. There is more money to be made treating a cancer patient than finding a cure.
The problem brings in the competition in the market place. Competition brings in the challenge. When you narrow focus on the challenge, one will find the solution. Most people may reach this far. Once you find the solution, your work just began. Now comes brevity and purity in the market place by staying consistent. He knows how to stay focused until the mission is accomplished.
